Hey all! I’m not a journalist, I’ve linked to articles that are written by people who are, but I must say things in Minnesota are still not great right now. Please consider helping out!

ICE is still very much in Minneapolis and even in Rochester, my hometown, and in Winona where I’m currently living. They’re not leaving, no matter what the news says.

The Star Tribune reports that ICE remains as do the policies that protect them, but the government is making a concerted effort to communicate more clearly.

They’ve emptied out their main dentation centre in Minneapolis, but most people are unsure as to where they took the people contained within.

There are still events protesting the occupation of Minnesota, in Winona I pass a protest every Saturday as I go to rehearsal for a play I’m directing.

Here are some more ways to assist Minnesotans in this time of crisis.

The most important thing you can do is keep informed, Threads and Bluesky have been great for that for me. Though, we are at the mercy of the algorithms that drive anything from Meta. MPR and The Star Tribune are great resources for keeping up to date with all of this.

One hates to sound like a Lib, but also call your reps! It does work, it does help, most of the time change starts small and gets bigger.

If you can make it to Minneapolis, there’s Melt The Ice which is a week of action February 25 to March 1st where people can participate in ICE-watch rapid responses and be taught demonstrate resistance tactics.

Stand With Minnesota offers some great resources as to how to assist people financially who have been affected by ICE in MN.

Some good news!

One of my favorite musicians, Brandi Carlile raised a shit load of money for The Advocates For Human Rights, which is assisting those affected by the ICE occupation in Minneapolis.

As always, indigenous Americans are showing up for people the way many white folks refuse to.

Minnesota had the most people from any state in the Olympics this year and we did okay for ourselves!

Times are tough, help each other, be kind, and Minnesotans, the next place they hit we gotta be on board helping them as much as people have been helping us.

Stay safe out there!

Tris
